Universal energy, light touch.
I practice the Japanese art of Reiki in the Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage. This Reiki method was conceived by Mikao Usui Sensei in 1922 and was brought to us by one of his students, Dr Chujiro Hayashi.
Reiki can be translated as Universal Energy, or healing energy from the Universe. The ability to channel this energy is passed from teacher to student, and its healing power comes with practice. It is a gentle technique that simply lays hands on the body to heal, and can also be performed remotely.
During a session
The patient is fully clothed and under a sheet or blanket. There is no physical contact on sensitive areas except on the chest with prior permission. The patient always has the option to request no touch in any given area.
During a Reiki session, there will be shifts in the energy of the patient as it starts re-harmonizing. Such shifts are typical of energetic healing and lead to a more balanced state.
Experience & lineage
I am a Reiki Shinpiden, or master teacher, which means I have been initiated to all the levels of Reiki in this lineage — including the ability to pass it on to others.
I have practiced extensively since 2009 on a wide range of conditions: from minor injuries such as sprains and broken bones to more complex ones including cancer, coma, depression and anxiety, birthing, polymyalgia rheumatica, kidney stones, arthritis, heart conditions, and support before and after surgery… for people, and animals too!
